Anyone want to recommend books for me to read once I'm done with ranking my finalists for Mythopoeic? Here are the rules.

1. Limit of one recommendation per person.

2. No modern fantasy (which I'm defining, for these purposes only, as anything from the 20th century or later). Fantasy is what I don't screen out. Hard sf, mystery, general fiction, and non-fiction are all fine.

3. I'm not promising to read it all. Just so you know.

The case I was using for my IIIxe frayed to the point where I decided I'd better use a new one. Naturally, nothing's sold specifically for that in stores, but I was disappointed to see how little was sold. It also seems to have gotten harder to find variety online. I'm currently calling that "The McDonalds' Effect", but I'm not sure that's a good name for it.

Fortunately, I overdid buying cases a while back, and I found a nice Targus case that fits snugly. It's not as good as the original case, the one 3Com made for the III line, but it's good enough, and it's not fraying yet.

I also bought a case for my T5 at J&R. It's a sweet thing, fits snugly, and has a rotating clip. The case has holes to allow for headphones and hotsyncing, but also strikes me as about as weatherproof as I can expect without specifically buying for that.

Oh, and both cases fit on my belt. That's important. There are a lot of good cases out there that don't. And neither requires velcro.

It's still harder to write on the screen of the T5 than on the screen of the IIIxe. I shouldn't have to say, "Well, it sucks less than my old C." And I do wish there were a fix for the overly rapid scrolling. But I like the feel of the T5 and the storage space.
