In Xanadu, Shall We Kill Bill?

[livejournal.com profile] mnemex and I just saw Kill Bill, Volume 1. Beautiful. Anyone know if there's really going to be a volume 2? If so, I will probably see it, but I don't think it's necessary.

The Volume 1/Volume 2 stuff is kind of a misnomer. The ACTUAL MOVIE is approximately 4 hours long. As the studio, already having made huge concessions to Tarantino, was unwilling to release a movie of that length, it was split into two parts, the second of which will be released in February.

Interesting. Did he intend for the halfway point to be where the end of the first movie actually was?
