This part feels a lot less painful after the action. During, the dentist reminded me

a) raise the arm to indicate pain, as she can't understand what I mumble with a mouth full of novocaine and dentist equipment

b) raise the arm at any pain -- I should not be feeling "just a little" pain; I should be feeling no pain when she's doing the work.

So, I'm at home with a Turkish pudding, hummus, lots of soup, some chocolate tea which I may doctor with ice cream and splenda, and some aquavit. Last time, I had two shots, one of which I took as quickly as possible. Now, I'm sipping one slowly, not intending to do a second. Granted, it's not Jubilaeums Akvavit, which is really, really good. I need to track some more down. Karen Andersan introduced me to it at the San Jose WorldCon, explaining that Denmark was the best place to get akvavit, and the Jubilaeums was the best of the Danish akvavit.

What I've got is Danish and akvavit, and not at all bad. It's quite good, but not as good as Jubilaeums.
