Saturday, I called the Strategist, confirming that 2nd ed Armageddon was out and that the store stayed open till 6pm. Then, I called Stephen Tihor, to see if he might want company later, figuring [livejournal.com profile] mnemex could do computer stuff, while I did a shopping run, then meet us at Stephen's house, if he were available. Stephen said that he and friends were catching Underworld that evening, but if we wanted to join them, that'd be fine.

We looked at each other, and agreed that we were curious. So, I grabbed tickets at the theater, which was on 8th and 42nd, then went to the Strategist, calling in to [livejournal.com profile] mnemex. Here, we made a dopey plan change, but one that, despite being annoying, was probably for the best. He asked if he should meet me at the Strat. I assumed that this meant he thought this was a Good Idea, when it was actually a question, so I said yes.

This meant I shopped more and bought more, calling him again 10 minutes before closing to learn he'd not left the house. This I had actually factored in. I bought stuff and left, heading for a restaurant a mile or so away.

Fortunately, I called Stephen. Somehow, I'd missed that the at the theater meeting was to be at 7, about an hour from then. This meant that doing the restaurant before the movie had always been a bit dubious.

After a phone call or two to [livejournal.com profile] mnemex, we hooked up at Bryant Park and dissected the Plan and the Changed Plan and agreed that we'd had Bad Plans. No sushi. So, we went to the theater, actually getting there first, and munched on chocolate. Then, we hooked up with the others, and the movie began.

I figured it'd be dopey, but hopefully not too painful. Actually, it was pretty good. Not great, but nothing that offended my suspension of disbelief while watching it. [livejournal.com profile] mnemex and I both thought that the sets and cinematography were great, but Oh, for a script by Gaiman!

We found nits to pick after, but still a lot of fun. And, yes, White Wolf does have a case, and no, I have no idea how good a case. I am not a lawyer.

And we all did dinner afterwards. Sushi!
