[livejournal.com profile] mnemex, [livejournal.com profile] zrealm, [livejournal.com profile] jlighton, and I saw Blade Runner: The Final Cut tonight. This was the supposedly even more complete and definitely restored version of the movie.

As far as I can tell, there is no more footage than in the previous director's cut, or at least, nothing significant. Maybe a couple extra seconds in a dream sequence, but this sequence was in the director's cut. The director went on record a few days ago about a question about the protagonist -- but his statement contradicted one made some years earlier.

And, it doesn't matter. It's still a very fine movie. Great visuals. It aged oddly, with a surprising lot of stuff right on track, but with certain things about computers off. I'm not sure what the 5 disc DVD will be like or if it'll be at all worth picking up, but it was great seeing the movie again.
