At GenCon, there was this cool group, The Muses, making the kind of music I like in a corner of the convention center. [livejournal.com profile] mnemex and I danced to a couple of their songs on Sunday. I googled, and sure enough, they've got a website.

Tom Smith was also at GenCon. He's thinking about going again, I believe.

I'm reading Kushiel's Scion like I read Diamond Age, with breaks to read other books between. I've not read the other Kushiel books, but as [livejournal.com profile] lordess assured me, that's not necessary.

I've finished Grim Tuesday, the second of Garth Nix's Keys of the Kingdom series. I like it.

I also read Nancy Springer's Dusssie, which had me laughing at the beginning and crying at the end. Highly recommended, and I will be nominating this one for the Children's List for Mythopoeic.

I've picked up Vellum, which took the Gaylactic Spectrum award. I've also got the third and fourth of Nix's books on hand.

Edited to correct spelling on the title of Springer's book.
