bigscary, Beth, mnemex, and I decided to go to Sandobe's opening celebration. The place was packed. We found a nice niche in the back. Problem: The free food and drink was at the front, at the bar, and vanished as soon as it was made.

bigscary retrived the first sake I've ever liked, nice, deceptively smooth, cold stuff, and then some tuna. mnemex went up to do likewise, taking so long bigscary went to help. By now, it was at least 8pm -- we'd arrived about 7, and gotten nothing to eat for at least 45 minutes.

Beth and I tried going up to get more, but this was not a viable plan. So, we left and went to a sushi place 2 blocks away. It had an 18 dollar all you can eat, with extremely limited selection (no eel), so we did ala carte, and the quality was quite good. Possibly as an apology for forgetting a couple of rolls at first, and possibly just because, they gave us, gratis, the second good sake I've ever had, nice warm deceptively smooth stuff. I had mine, most of mnemex's, and some of Beth's. Feeling a bit whee-ish, but only for a bit.

We headed to Veniero's, noting that the drunken Sandobe crowd was now overflowing, folks standing outside, sans winter coats! At Veniero's, we got a variety of yummy things, then headed home, me picking bigscary's brain for cool death traps. I don't know if I'll use the one he suggested for Cthulhupunk, but it was a very cool trap.
