After a few days at the home of Lee and Barry Gold, [livejournal.com profile] mnemex and I are at WorldCon. I've left messages for Scott Meeks and Marco Subias. We've got our space cadet sashes, complete with merit badges, half sewn on, half hot glued, though I have to sew 2 of the hot glued ones back on.

Lee had shown me a copy of A. Merritt's Ship of Ishtar with the Findley illos, and I loved it. I saw one for $250 in the Dealers' Room. Definite pass. Saw one for $125. Ditto. Saw one for $35. Sold! Was there a difference? Maybe. Maybe the dust jacket isn't as pristine. I don't know. I want to read the book, not polish it.

We had some very nice sushi in the Hilton's Sushi Bar. The chef does omakase, which we may try later, now that we know a) he does it and b) the fish is very, very good.

Our T-mobile sidekicks get good reception in the convention center, but bad to none in the Hilton.

Ellen Kushner is here, as is her new book. Delia Sherman's book will be dropped off if it hasn't already.

Someone needs the computer more than I do.
