Saturday at Balticon

We woke up around one in the afternoon, which is hardly surprising, considering when we went to sleep. So, I made no afternoon panels, but went to the dealers' room and showed the woman who sells the small 8-pocket dice bags my Duluth clinker. The two products are very compatible, as I find myself putting the small bags inside the larger one.

mnemex went to the Medieval Dancing. Then, we joined a large group and went to a noodle shop, followed by a gelato dessert. Then, I went to a panel on underrated movies. I'm currently in the filk room watching this amazing performance of Lehrer's "The Masochism Tango".



NB: "Underrated" doesn't always mean "Good".

Manos: The Hand of Fate -- there's this scene with Godzilla doing a flying drop kick
Santa Claus versus the Nazis -- while the title doesn't mention it, Satan makes an appearance, and Merlin is in it too, with a giant telescope

The second film sounds like the movie MST3Ked under the name 'Santa Claus'. No Nazis in it, but that doesn't mean much. It's probably worse than they made it sound.

Manos was also on MST3K, and there's no Godzilla in there. (OK, they usually edit the movies, but something so out-of-place would need mockery.)

Hm. IMDB and Wikipedia confirm that there's no Godzilla in Manos. I'm wondering if the panelist mentioned two movies, and I missed the second title, conflating it with Manos.

I don't know about the other one.
