The Palm has this deal where you pay $20 to join a diner's club. You get a $20 gift certificate, good at any Palm restaurant, immediately, so there's you cost right back.

mnemex is the one who actually joined, but we use my birthday, as he's often away for his. The first year we did this, our waitress explained that we'd have to get a free 5 pound lobster, as they were out of 3 pound lobsters.
This year, well, they charged (or rather didn't) for a 3 pound lobster. It looked bigger than my memory of last year's. I may be wrong. But it -tasted- much, much better. Yum. And it was about as much lobster as the two of us could consume. We took home all of the porterhouse. (Okay, that wasn't free. But it's really good.)
We ate, as we do by preference, at Palm Too, rather than The Palm. It's friendlier, but doesn't take reservations for 2 people. Still, we got seated at once.
