Okay, forgive my ignorance, but this is the very first inauguration I can remember watching.

When they say, "Please stand" for the Justice who does the swearing in, and I'm sitting at home, looking down at my laptop screen, is is appropriate to remain sitting? I mean, it just doesn't feel right to stand, and I can't see the screen if I do.

I know I watched Reagan's inauguration, I'm pretty sure I watched Carter's, both on TVs set up at school. I vaguely remember Nixon's farewell speech, so I probably saw Ford being sworn in as well. Or was it televised?
