So, my head's still sore on and off, and we were concerned enough to want to double check. In the morning, while it was still a bit before anyone would be in at my GP's office,
This is a service offered by our health provider. I entered the number into my phone weeks ago -- but typoed it. Luckily, I had saved the card with the number on it, just in case.
After walking me through both general and specific questions, the nurse concluded:
-- It sounds like all is still well
-- Head wounds, if they are going to get bad, usually do so at once or within 72 hours
-- It was not at all silly to call
-- Call again if I get dizziness, nausea, vomiting, vision problems, or weakness / tingling in extremities, or if pain seems to be lasting longer (as it isn't constant) or getting stronger
-- When I noted I did get the occasional tingle in fingers even when I haven't been hit on the head due to typing too much / in suboptimal positions, she said to be alert for things that were different from the norm
-- Meanwhile, work the remaining blood out. No more rubbing alcohol, but use neosporin or bacitracin. We used neosporin.
-- And it's okay to call and talk options for cholesterol issue, or if I need help finding a specialist -- or a gp.
All of which is good to know.
