Very briefly, and leaving out a lot of complicated stuff:
My father's been in the hospital for a week. He had a lot of medical issues when he was admitted. One of these turned out to be an infected pacemaker. He'd been through that once already, in 2006. Yesterday, the pacemaker was taken out and replaced by a temporary pacemaker.
There are, however, other factors. The doctors may need to do open heart surgery. They'll give their opinion tonight.
