The awards results are in -- McKillip's Ombria in Shadow took it for the Adult list, which I think is what should have happened (and I was good -- I reread all three entries over before voting). Summerlands took it for the Childrens' list. I wouldn't have voted for it, but I'm not on the Childrens' committee, and I can see why people with an appreciation of the genre would vote for it. Heck, [livejournal.com profile] mnemex voted for it. His bit was that it was more original than Coraline, though we agreed that Coraline is very, very good. I would have liked to see The Great Good Thing on the Childrens' list, and [livejournal.com profile] mnemex allowed as how it might have gotten his vote had it been there. It would also have been nice to see The Stones are Hatching, but I think GGT would still have gotten my vote. Had I voted. (Note to self: Get sequel to GGT. I gotta see where he takes this.)

Okay, the Godlike review went to rpg.net and will go live in about a week. Maybe less.

The Sorcerer review is almost done. I want to settle a math question about odds. It's a very minor part of my review, but I'd like to get it right. Once [livejournal.com profile] mnemex figures the odds and explains it to me, I'll tweak one sentence or not.

The Dying Earth review is in more progress. I've gotten up to chapter 7 in the pre-playtest part. I'll probably have to whack away at everything once it's in first draft.

I'm reading the first supplement for Sorcerer, visions of pulpery goodness in my head.
