My father has occasionally suggested I turn my gameworld into a novel, just, y'know, filing off the serial numbers. It is, of course, not that easy.
mnemex suggested I turn my gameworld into a sourcebook, which my father may also have suggested. mnemex having the advantage of a more detailed knowledge of what was created, was able to point to some specific elements. "These," he explained, "are what makes it interesting."
The "these" he's talking about are fairly broad elements that created the final arc of my original Cthulhupunk campaign. The fact that it evolved more or less by accident isn't the point. That arc would make a good sourcebook. Not a good scenario, but a sourcebook, with an overview of what's going on, what the logical timeline of events would be without PC intervention, various ways PCs might get involved and what elements to play with under various circumstances, and details on some of the movers and shakers, which not only need not, but could not, be that similar to what I did. Yes, it could work.
And then, he said, I could do a sourcebook for the world 20 years later, the one I for which I wrapped the campaign this past summer. Again, it would have to be quite different from what I actually did, but still, theoretically, possible.
Of course, as mnemex pointed out, I couldn't actually call it Cthulhupunk, even if I were to write it. That's the name of a GURPS supplement. I was running my campaign long before that supplement came out, but I still couldn't call it Cthulhupunk.
But, it could be done. I doubt there would be any money in it. mnemex disagrees; he thinks that I might net $10.
