The neighbor in whose apartment the fire started and his guest are in the hospital burn unit, but I was able to talk to him on the phone. He sounded like himself and described himself as "crispy", but otherwise all right.
Physical condition of our apartment remains to be seen and certain things cannot be done till after Tuesday, aka the next business day. One step at a time. I have talked to insurance folks, gotten a list of what to look for and photograph, and made a short list of stuff to take for the immediate future. After than, we shall look at longer term situation.
