When I was a teenager, I looked forward to menopause, because it meant I'd never have to worry about getting pregnant. I wasn't sexually active as a teenager. I was a Very Good Girl. But, that's no protection.
We've come full circle. Apparently, in Arizona, pregnancy begins two weeks before conception. I do not want to knit a uterus to send to the people who support this legislation. I am somewhat tempted to have my actual uterus removed and sent to them. Perhaps they might then treat the rest of me as a human being.
I'd be more tempted if I thought that would actually work. But, as Catherynne Valente noted, in Arizona, an imaginary foetus is more of a human being than I am.
