I've gotten about halfway through Iron Dragon's Daughter, and [livejournal.com profile] mnemex and I have seen All About Eve. I've finished reading the games Polaris, The Shadows of Yesterday (2nd ed), Primetime Adventures (2md ed), amd Under the Bed. I've started reading the game The Mountain Witch.

The movie was good, and paced very differently than the movies I'd expect to see made today.

The book is good, but, as with Stations of the Tide, I'm just not clicking with Swanwick's prose. It's very well written, so I'm not sure why. Maybe it's just that I'm not a huge fan of Dickens.

I read Iron Dragon's Daughter a few years ago, and didn't really like it very much.

You've hit it with the Dickens thing! That's it! That might explain why Iron Dragon's Daughter was a book that I knew I'd enjoyed rather than felt I'd enjoyed. I was never a big fan of Mr Boz either.
