Given that the odds of a transit workers' strike are non-zero, I decided to walk home from work today. I copied a page from one of our pocket atlases, and traced out my route. I figured that about half to two thirds of the way through, I could stop at a restaurant at the borders of what I consider my neighborhood.
That part of the walk took me about 20 minutes, which means that a full walk would be about forty-five minutes to an hour, as I'd guessed. In all likelihood, I have a ride to work tomorrow -- though not Monday -- and I may be able to get a ride home. But, I can walk it.
