I scored one of the cds [livejournal.com profile] hms42 from the last housefilk but one at [livejournal.com profile] batyatoon and [livejournal.com profile] sdelmonte's place. In return, I agreed to donate something to Interfilk. I have the Challenger Memorial tape, which I listened to once, years ago, and never since. What do I do to donate it? Where does it go?

Get somebody who is going to a filkcon to take it there and give it to the auction people. I'm going to GaFilk in the beginning of January (as, I assume, is Josh), so can get it there if you like.

Addendum: a North American filkcon. The UK has its own filkfund which is certainly a worthy cause and is presently working in tandem with Interfilk to pay for the n'MC's trip to FKO, but if the promise was about Interfilk specifically, they don't do European conventions.

Cool. If I give it to mnemex and remind you, the odds are decent one of you will remember to get it to the aution people.

I always look over the auction table even though I rarely buy anything, so I'm a pretty good bet to get it to them if it gets to me.

Vice versa, you could ship it to an Interfilk director, who would ensure it got to a con with an auction. The closest geographically is Spencer, I believe.

Third option: contact a filkcon concom and ask if you can ship it to them for the auction. That would enable you to select a particular con to benefit.

(You might want to see if [livejournal.com profile] mnemex can rip the tape; that would enable you to keep a personal-use-only CD AND possibly burn a CD for the buyer, so that they could keep the tape intact (if a collector, it might increase the value. I could be wrong, of course; I'm more or less thinking aloud.)
