I don't vote for many hugos, having this quaint notion that I should have read or seen all entries in any category I'm voting for. But occasionally, I do get to vote for Best Dramatic Presentation. I voted for GalaxyQuest (no surprise), and for X-Men 1. I wouldn't have minded if Frequency had beaten it, that being my #2 by a bare hairsbreadth. But I do wish anything other than Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon had won.

This year, we have 2 awards, based on length. I can vote on the long dramatic presentation, having caught the last of the bunch, Minority Report, last night. I'm debating between Minority Report and Spritied Away. IMO, Spirited Away is technically the better film, being stronger on all levels. But Minority Report is actually an SF film. Now, both SF and Fantasy are eligible, so being SF per se doesn't net a film extra points -- or shouldn't. But, also IMO, it's harder to make a good SF film. And MR has some brilliant small touches. But, that doesn't change the fact that there are a few holes in the script. Tough call.
