We've been working our way at snail's pace through the Eccleston Doctor Who episodes. When [livejournal.com profile] mnemex got the DVD of the first season of The Muppet Show, that took precedence. I tended not to be in the mood for anything requiring heavy concentration, and I knew that we were about to hit a two parter. One 2-part episode = 2 hours. For that, we could see 4 episodes of Muppets, or even one or two, and get to bed less than utterly late.

But, we finished that DVD set, and tonight, we watched "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances", which were up for the Hugo for Short Dramatic Presentation. Very well done, and now, of course, we want to see Torchwood.

I am enjoying Torchwood but it is not as good or as tight as the Eccleston Dr Who. I just hope it gets to stick around long enough to iron out the kinks and grow but the tabloid press in the UK are going apeshit over the metrosexuality so who knows how long it will last.

Yah, [livejournal.com profile] osewalrus figures that any sf show takes about a year / season to find its footing.
